I'm not much of spinning guy, but this can become my spare or my daughter's main set up. I was pretty set on the Shimano Curado because of all of the great things I've heard about it here and elsewhere. Then recently there was a thread here on the Lews Speed Spool and some people seemed to really like it. If any of the shimano heads out there have an opinion on the upgrades that have been made to this new version, please share. Apr 28, 2024 · Shimano Curado BFS has a very shallow spool. The other two BFS reels I have are the KastKing Zephyr BFS and the Kestrel BFS, which have similarly shallow spools.
